Uniform Policy / Dress Code
UPDATED GUIDELINES FOR 2024-2025
Acceptable On Campus School Attire
Elementary:
Tops: Solid navy blue, light blue, red, or white collared shirts
Bottoms: Solid navy blue or black pants, shorts, skirts
Outerwear: Solid navy, white, gray, or black jackets, sweaters, or sweatshirts
Powell spirit wear accepted
Middle School:
Tops: Solid navy blue, light blue, red, or white collared shirts
Bottoms: Solid khaki pants, shorts, skirts
Outerwear: Solid navy, white, gray, or black jackets, sweaters, or sweatshirts
Powell spirit wear accepted
Requirements:
- Clothing must fit properly with no logos
- Clothing cannot bare the midriff or allow undergarments to be exposed
- Closed footwear that covers the entire foot must be worn for safety reasons
- Shorts and skirts must be no more than 3 inches above the kneecap
- Pants must be worn at the waist
- Double tops/visible layers in uniform colors; collared shirt must be on top.
Unacceptable School Attire
Unacceptable Tops:
- Double Tops/Visible Layers in non-uniform colors
- Tank Tops
- Strapless, sleeveless, off the shoulder, or spaghetti strap tops
- Low-cut shirts, bare-back or tube tops
- Revealing, see-through, and sheer clothing
- Clothing and accessories with obscene or gang-related material
- Clothing with writing, pictures, or patches
- PE shirts in the classroom
Unacceptable Bottoms:
- Jeans, leggings, yoga pants, tights
- Sweat pants/Athletic pants
- Cut-offs or cut-off jean shorts, ripped, or torn clothing
- Clothing that is revealing and allows undergarments or midriff skin to be exposed
- Clothing with writing, pictures, or patches
- PE shorts in the classroom
Unacceptable Headwear/Body:
- No headwear (hats, bandanas, do-rags)
- No spike earrings or facial piercings may be worn.
- Accessories that compromise a student's safety
- Crocs
